Message to Lexcel firms COVID-19

The spread of the Coronavirus Covid-19 is deeply concerning for us all. The Law Society takes the health and safety of our staff and members very seriously. In light of the increasing number of people affected by the virus and acknowledging the role we all have to play in limiting its impact, the accreditations team is now working remotely. 

Applications for reaccreditation

We are able to continue processing and approving applications for reaccreditation.  We understand that this is a challenging time for you, your colleagues and your business. We would like to encourage those who are able to apply to still do so. Should you be unable to submit an application due to circumstances relating to the Coronavirus Covid-19, please email lexcel@lawsociety.org.uk with details of your specific situation in order for us to work with you.   Should we currently be processing your application and you are unable to respond to a request for further information due to Coronavirus Covid-19, please email lexcel@lawsociety.org.uk with details of your specific situation.   Onsite visits We would like to support you during this time and have been working with the Assessment bodies to alter onsite visits to undertake the audits remotely. We would like to encourage you to contact your assessment body to discuss how your visit can be carried out remotely. Should a remote visit not be possible, please email lexcel@lawsociety.org.uk with details of your specific situation in order for us to discuss an extension.   Post Due to the closing of our buildings, there will be an impact on us receiving post. We would like to encourage you to send all applications and relevant documents electronically as far as possible in order to prevent a delay in responding.   Order materials Due to the closure of our buildings, we will be unable to send out hard copy certificates and window stickers during this period.

Firms should also sign up to receive government email alerts to ensure they are acting on the latest information   At this time, we do not know how long the current situation will last.
